JR's Manager Refutes Trey Songz Claims, Says Assistant Principal Did Not Know Lyrics to Song

The high school assistant principal appeared briefly in a music video which was posted on YouTube in September.

Rapper JR’s manager claims that Southampton High School Assistant Principal Esther Adler-O’Keefe did not know the lyrics or hear JR’s song “Best Friend” before she agreed to make a brief appearance in the music video.

After the video, which contains explicit language and content, was posted on YouTube last month, Adler-O’Keefe told 27east that she was unaware of the “content, lyrics, and title of the video and song” when she agreed to be in it.

Trey Songz, another rapper in the song, told TMZ last week that while he felt bad that Adler-O’Keefe had been reassigned to new duties at the high school, that “she had heard the song a million times.”

However AG, JR’s manager, refuted the claims, telling 27east that Trey Songz did not meet Adler-O’Keefe on set and that she didn’t know the lyrics because the song wasn’t playing during the parts that she was in the video.

“She never knew any of that. She was only simply informed of who was in the video,” he told 27east. “None of her parts involved actual performing. The indoor scene in which she was in, there was no music playing.”
