Man with 21 Suspensions Charged With Leaving Scene of Accident: Police

The damaged vehicle was found in the parking lot of the East End Children's Museum in Bridgehampton, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - A Ridge man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Bridgehampton and ditching his vehicle at the East End Children's Museum, police said.

Allan May, 51, of Ridge, was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, a violation, and several traffic infractions, police said.

May was found to be unlicensed and operating with 21 active suspensions, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, a call came in on June 13 at 11:17 a.m. about a motor vehicle
accident on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike.

Police responded to find a 1996 Ford truck damaged in the parking lot of the Children's Museum, police said.

After an investigation, the police officer located the driver of the vehicle and the original location of the accident, police said.

May's vehicle was was impounded and he will appear in court at a later date, police said.
