Parking Ticket Amnesty Program Launched in Southampton Town
The amnesty program, which runs June 1 to July 31, will mean violators can pay the ticket plus only a $5 surcharge.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - Those who've gotten parking tickets in Southampton Town are in for a bit of a reprieve.
The town announced this week that beginning June 1 through July 31, motorists with tickets can pay the parking violation fee with just an additional $5 tacked on, waiving any additional penalties.
So, if a person has a ticket for $100, the charge would be $105.

The amnesty program is for tickets issued from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2015.
“There are also great costs to the town to collect past due parking violation penalties," Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said. “The amnesty program allows the town to collect those overdue fees with minimal court costs and administrative time," he said.
