Photos: Southampton Hospital Event Raises Awareness About Tick-Borne Diseases

The spotlight was on the groundbreaking work being done at Southampton Hospital to combat the escalating tick crisis on the East End.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - The spotlight was on the burgeoning tick crisis Wednesday night at Southampton Hospital.

A mixer was held at The American Hotel to raise awareness of the critical work being done by Southampton Hospital's Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center.

Leading physicians, scientists and other researchers in the study of ticks and tick-borne diseases mingled with local politicians, hospital medical staff, local business owners and other interested parties, including representatives of the Hampton Classic Horse Show, East End Tick Control and Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Each guest went home with a tick removal kit in their goody bag.
