Riverhead Man Nabbed With Crack in Car: Police

RIVERSIDE, NY: A Riverhead man was caught with crack cocaine in his car, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the Tomasz Zalewski, 27, was arrested on May 24 at 7:50 p.m.

The Southampton Town Police Department's community response unit was patrolling the Riverside area around Ludlam Park when the officer noticed a suspicious vehicle, police said.

The officer approached the vehicle and began to speak to Zalewski, and noticed a quantity of what appreared to be crack cocaine in plain view, police said.

Zalewski was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, police said.
