SOUTHAMPTON, NY - Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman will present his very first State of the Town address on Tuesday at 1p.m.The presentation will take place as part of the regularly scheduled town board meeting. Schneiderman says he plans to review his first 100 days and preview several initiatives currently underway and others planned for the months ahead.

The State of the Bays Symposium, presented by the Gobler Lab at Stony Brook Southampton, is an annual event that brings together leading scientists, local leaders, and community members to better understand the health of our coastal waters. It will highlight recent water quality and public health threats in coastal waters while also identifying innovative solutions to these complex problems.
This year’s message is clear: We are out of time to wait, but not out of solutions.

🐥 10.30 am – noon • Free Children's Seed Sowing Workshop Presented by ReWild Long Island and sponsored by Kiwanis of East Hampton, this first ecological workshop in the series welcomes children ages 4–10. Learn to identify seeds, grow fruits and vegetables in your own backyard, and plant seeds to take home. Storytime, crafts, and a tour of Matthew Lester's Pollinator Garden. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free, but please call Patty Sales at 516-458-3978 to register and hold your spot — space is limited. Rain or shine.
🐥 1–2 pm • Anything Can Be a Planter! Container Garden Demonstration Learn how to plant a scenic container garden by repurposing items you have at home — an old boot, a garden tub, even a coffee mug. Explore different garden styles: kitchen herb, cutting garden, or native plants. Includes a step-by-step process for planting a container. No registration required. All ages welcome.

Family Gardening Workshops: East Hampton Historical Farm Museum Opening Day

ReWild Long Island is accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Environmental Internship in East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk and Sag Harbor. Open to students in grades 8–12.
Interns grow organic food for local pantries, protect native pollinators, farm oysters, compost, and build real teamwork and leadership skills. They work alongside experienced environmentalists and leave knowing they made a genuine contribution to their community.
Flexible hours. Community service credit. Stipend.
