They shot a man they said they saw stabbing a woman Jan. 10 in Southeast.

SOUTHEAST, NY — The New York State Police have released the names of the responding members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office who shot a man Jan. 10 during an alleged violent abduction as Senior Investigator Randel Hill and Deputy Shane Haley.

Last week they identified the man shot as Christopher T. Torres, 34, of Carmel.

According to the preliminary investigation, a call reporting domestic violence and an apparent abduction came into Kent town police at 9:45 a.m. The information described a vehicle with a suspect and victim, a Putnam County Sheriff's Office spokesman told Patch. Sheriff’s deputies who were assisting Kent police located the car in the adjacent town of Southeast, on Fields Corner Road near Pugsley Road. They saw a man stabbing a woman with a knife.
