In addition, two other detectives were honored for their investigating skills which led to the arrests of three robbery suspects.

A Nassau County police officer and two detectives were recently honored for their heroic actions in stopping a domestic violence suspect and finding investigating a string of robberies.
Police Officer Richard Papa was honored for the quick action he took when a Syosset man tried to steal another officer's gun while he was being arrested.
Papa and the other officer responded to a Berry Hill Road home for a domestic disturbance after the man, 43-year-old David Abbondondolo, violated an order of protection and broke a 36-year-old woman's cellphone, police said.
