Here is a look at the top ten most read stories from 2017:
- Police Release Photos Of Woman Involved In Anti-Semitic Graffiti At Syosset High School- Nassau Police released photos of the person involved in the spray-painting of anti-Semitic graffiti at Syosset High School in August.
- Missing Nassau County Woman Found Dead - A Syosset woman with a history of mental illness was found in Syosset after being reported missing in July.
- Oyster Bay Town Officials Indicted For Corruption: DA - Three former Oyster Bay Town officials, one current town official, a leader of a political club and the owners of a paving company were all indicted on charges of corruption and misconduct in June.
- Man Charged With Manslaughter After Fatal LIE Crash - The Manhasset man was arrested after a fatal car crash that occurred on the Long Island Expressway in February.
- Second Arrest Made in Fatal LIE Crash - A 19-year-old was charged with fleeing the scene of the fatal crash.
- MS13 Graffiti Found Spray-Painted On Woodbury Homes - Just a few weeks after similar graffiti was discovered at a nearby high school, graffiti with the gang insignia was discovered at several local homes.
- Pair Arrested After Fatal Overdose: Police - Twelve bags of heroin and a bag of cocaine were among the drugs found in their car in June.
- Man Tasered After Trying to Take Officer's Gun During Arrest: Cops - Two Nassau officers were treated at the hospital after a 43-year-old man resisted arrest in February.
- Syosset High School Among Best High Schools for 2017: U.S. News and World Report - The local school made the list of the top 100 best schools in the state in April.
- Three Long Island Students Named U.S. Presidential Scholars - The students were among a total of 161 who received the honor in May.
