Centereach Man, 60, Found Dead: Police

The man, who had been last heard from via telephone on March 4, was found dead Sunday, police say.

UPDATED 10:30 a.m. Monday: CENTEREACH, NY — Steven Harbaugh, 60, of Centereach, was found dead, the Suffolk County Police Department told Patch. His death had been ruled non-criminal in nature.

Correction: Patch originally reported Harbaugh to be found OK. Suffolk police confirmed his death. He had last been heard from March 4.

Original story: CENTEREACH, NY — Suffolk police issued a silver alert for a missing Centereach man, the department announced this weekend. Steven Harbaugh, 60, was last heard from via telephone on March 4. Harbaugh, who lives on Hammond Road, is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs around 160 pounds, according to police.

Anyone with information on Harbaugh’s location is asked to call 911 or the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
