Legal Drama Unfolds In 'UES Mommas' Facebook Group: Report

Two of the "mommas" didn't like being called racist for their conservative political views, so they lawyered up.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The "UES Mommas" Facebook Group — which has more than 27,000 members — was embroiled in legal drama this week when two "mommas" lawyered up and threatened members of the group for calling them "racist," according to a report.

The two conservative mothers retained the services of New Jersey-based Yifat V. Schnur and sent a cease and desist letter to at least four other members of "UES Mommas" accusing them of libel, Jezebel first reported. The letters were sent following Facebook arguments in which the two conservative mothers argued that “white supremacy” is a fantasy and that Black Lives Matter serves "no purpose," Jezebel reported.

The mommas were apparently not happy that their views had other moms calling them, among other things, "racist."

Moderators of the Facebook group ended up booting most of the women involved in the fiercely political debates, including those who sent the cease and desist letters, to keep discussion on the page limited to topics like summer camp and diapering, Jezebel reported.
