Planes Will Fly Over NYC Again, This Time For A WWII Anniversary
Vintage World War II planes will fly over the Hudson River on Friday for the anniversary of "Victory in Europe Day."

NEW YORK, NY — Celebratory planes are set to fly over Manhattan for the third time in a week, this time for a World War II anniversary.
Eleven vintage WWII aircraft are scheduled to fly along the Hudson River at 12:30 p.m. in honor of the 75th anniversary of VE Day, known as the end of World War II.
The planes will soar at about 1,500 feet along the Hudson before heading over the Verrazano Bridge and eastbound over the Long Island Sound, according to a notice from the NYPD.

It will mark the third time this week, and fourth time in recent weeks, that New Yorkers have been invited to take a break from quarantine to watch planes fly over the Big Apple.
On Thursday, JetBlue planes honoring New York, the FDNY and NYPD took to the skies to honor frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
