The workers found the drug operation while cleaning a vacant lot, and quickly reported it to police.

Hempstead Town Councilmembers presented a citation to sanitation workers who discovered a drug-growing operation on a property in the town.
Officials say the workers were clearing a vacant lot in Wantagh when they discovered marijuana being grown on the property. The workers quickly notified police, who were able to dismantle the drug operation.
