Passenger Killed In Crash With Dump Truck Identified As 32-Year-Old Southeast Man
D.C. Police identified 32-year-old Steven Roy of Southeast as the passenger killed when the car he was riding in struck a dump truck.
WASHINGTON, DC — Steven Roy, 32, of Southeast was identified by police as one of the two people killed on March 8, when the car they were riding in crashed into a District of Columbia Department of Public Works dump truck.
Roy was the passenger in a 2011 BMW that was traveling eastbound on Interstate 695 around 6:44 p.m. The BMW was traveling at high rate of speed when it struck the parked dump truck at exit 1c, according to police. The car then continued across multiple lanes of traffic and hit a 2004 Toyota MR2, before striking the jersey barrier and catching on fire.
Emergency medical personnel tried to revive Roy and the driver of the BMW, but they both died. Police have not released the identity of the driver.
