Washington Heights Native Lin-Manuel Miranda to Host 'Saturday Night Live'

The "Hamilton" creator will host the upcoming season's second show on Oct. 8 with musical guest Twenty One Pilots.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Washington Heights native Lin-Manuel Miranda is having a big week. Shortly after announcing he will donate $100,000 to a neighborhood theater, the superstar has been tapped to host the second episode of the upcoming "Saturday Night Live" season.

The episode will air Oct. 8, and Miranda will be joined by musical guest Twenty One Pilots.

The gig will be Miranda's first time hosting "SNL," but the "Hamilton" creator has plenty of experience performing live. Miranda's musical about the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton racked up multiple awards and a massive following. Miranda has quite the set of pipes as well, so don't be surprised if he breaks out in song during a sketch.

Miranda tweeted Wednesday that he has been a long-time "Saturday Night Live" fan.

Miranda has been busy since he ended his run as a regular on "Hamilton" in July. In addition to hosting "Saturday Night Live," Miranda wrote the score for the upcoming Disney movie "Moana" and will star alongside Emily Blunt in a "Mary Poppins" reboot.
