Police: Drunk Westhampton Man Arrested After Driving Into Oncoming Traffic
The arrest was made on Saturday evening.

A Westhampton man was arrested on a DWI charge on Saturday evening in Quiogue, according to Southampton Town Police.
At approximately 5:10 p.m. on Montauk Highway, police arrested John R. Thorne, 59, after he was seen crossing over center line into on coming traffic, police said.
He was stopped and found to be intoxicated and in possession of an opened alcohol container, police said.

Thorne was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing.
He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a pre-screening breath test, consumption of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and driving left of pavement markers, according to police.

He was held for morning arraignment.
