Police: Duo Arrested After Burglarizing East Quogue Home

A neighbor saw the burglary and grabbed one of the robbers as he was leaving with the items, police said.

A Center Moriches man and a Manorville woman were arrested on Friday, May 22 for burglarizing a home on Quogue Riverhead Road in East Quogue, Southampton Town Police reported on Monday.

The home owner came home to find an unknown man in her home and ran for help, police said.

A neighbor saw the burglary in progress and grabbed the robber as he was leaving the home with the stolen items taken from the house, police said.

The burglars were identified as Darren S. Moore, 29, and Jeannette Gallacher, 31, according to police.

Both were charged with one count of second degree burglary, police said.

Moore was charged with an additional 7 counts of second degree burglary for other burglaries which occurred in Southampton Town between May 4 and May 22, according to police.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Detectives at 631-702-2230.
