Police: Man Arrested After Trying to Flee From Police
The arrest was made on Monday night.

A Riverside man was arrested on Monday night after attempting to flee from police while driving along CR-104 in Riverside, according to Southampton Town Police.
Kirk J. Alfaro, 46 was driving at a high speed on Old Quogue Road and when police attempted to stop his car, he increased speed and shut off lights, police said.
A short pursuit ensued, ending at Riverwoods Mobile Home Community, according to police.

Alfaro was arrested for unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving, and fourteen traffic violations, police said.
In addition, Alfaro was summary arrested by Southampton Town Detectives for second degree criminal mischief, after an investigation from February 2015 revealed he caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to a building and several vehicles parked for repair at an automotive business in Riverhead, police said.

Alfaro was arraigned in Southampton Justice Court and remanded to Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead, police said.
