Wind, Flooding Continue to Target West Islip

Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect until early Wednesday.

The nasty weather is going nowhere fast.

A wind advisory has now expired by Suffolk County, but a coastal flood statement is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 2 a.m. Wednesday for areas along the South Shore of Long Island.

Tides are expected to be 1 and a half to 2 feet above normal during Tuesday night’s high tide, the NWS said. This could cause “minor inundation of less than 1 foot above ground” across the most vulnerable shore roads.
