The annual Lakeland Week of the Arts runs May 9-22

The Lakeland School District will host its 31st annual “Lakeland Week of the Arts” event at Jefferson Valley Mall.

The art exhibition will kick off with a special ceremony in the mall’s Center Court on Monday, from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. with art on display through May 22.

“Jefferson Valley Mall is proud to continue its partnership with the Lakeland School District for its annual ‘Lakeland Week of the Arts’ event,” said Alexa O’Rourke, marketing director at Jefferson Valley Mall. “The event is all about the collaboration of family, which ties perfectly with our goal to provide an ideal venue for families and friends to shop and enjoy time together.”

Lakeland High School and Walter Panas High School students will display their artwork including photography, oil paintings, watercolor and drawings throughout the duration of the exhibit.

“The annual art exhibition in partnership with Jefferson Valley Mall showcases the outstanding work that our students create in their art classes. It highlights the A+ talent of both the students and the art department staff,” said Lakeland Superintendent of Schools George Stone.
