Wrong-Way Taconic Crash Kills Motorcyclist
The collision happened early Sunday morning in Putnam Valley.

An SUV driving south in the northbound lanes of the Taconic Parkway collided with a motorcyclist early Sunday morning, according to news reports. The motorcyclist then hit a wall near the Bryant Pond Road exit.
That side of the road was closed for hours while police investigated.
According to The Journal News, authorities said there was some question about who was driving the mini-van and none of the people riding in it spoke much English.

It’s the third fatal crash on the Taconic this month. A 2-year-old and a mother and daughter died Aug. 15 when the driver of an SUV lost control and hurtled into the southbound lanes near FDR State Park. A Brewster woman, Stacey L. Jackson, died the same day in LaGrangeville in a single-car crash.

Police have not released the identity of the motorcyclist or the other drivers.
