A snow emergency gives the police department the ability to get cars off the roads.

YORKTOWN, NY — The snow emergency is over in the Town of Yorktown. A Facebook post by the Yorktown Police Department said the emergency declaration was rescinded as of 9 a.m. Thursday, March 22.

The police did say that people should drive cautiously because there are icy patches of road on some residential and tertiary roadways.

The emergency declaration was put into effect when the nor’easter was approaching the Hudson Valley.
