Yorktown Schools Calendar 2015-16

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Yorktown school district.

First day of school, grades K-9: Sept. 1

First day of school, grades 10-12: Sept. 2

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14, 15

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Superintendent Conference Day (no K-8 students; 9-12 are in session): Nov. 3

Veterans Day (no school): Nov. 11

Thanksgiving recess (half-day): Nov. 25

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess: Dec. 23-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Presidents Day/Winter recess (school closed): Feb. 15-19

Holiday recess: March 21-25

Superintendent’s Conference Day (half day): April 22

Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 27-30

Last day of school: June 22

Superintendent’s conference day (no students): June 23
