Yorktown Students Receive Math, Science, Technology Honor

The pair was recognized by the National Siemens Competition.

Two Yorktown students have been recognized by the National Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology for their multi-year research projects.

James WoMa and Andrew Amini are members of Yorktown High School’s Science Research Program and are two of only seven receiving such an honor in Westchester County.

There were 466 semifinalists nationwide, district officials said.

WoMa’s project indentified trends with current patients who required a pacemaker in order to determine if future patients are appropriate recipients.

Amini’s project was to find a method that would better predict when someone was going to have a epileptic seizure.
