• Flag Football on the Rise Locally (thelocalreporter.press) — Carrboro Recreation’s youth NFL Flag football league is booming, with local kids practicing in late August and playing mostly under the lights at Anderson Park starting the weekend after Labor Day. The town dropped youth tackle football years ago amid safety concerns and shifting interest, and now runs a popular co-ed flag program with a wait list and multiple NFL-themed teams drawing players from Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and beyond.
