Jubilee Home celebrates stronger roots in Durham (triangletribune.com) — A Durham nonprofit, Jubilee Home, is deepening its support for formerly incarcerated residents through housing, jobs, and a growing community garden in the Hayti neighborhood. Its recent block party highlighted Jubilee Flowers, which pays residents a living wage while building skills, and showcased local partners helping expand reentry support and neighborhood resources.
   

2. Community unites for 'joy, grief & motherhood' benefit in Durham (cbs17.com) — Downtown Durham's Cheeni restaurant will host "Joy, Grief & Motherhood" on October 15, bringing neighbors together over dinner to talk openly about pregnancy, parenting and loss. Durham police work to build relationships, community trust as 51 neighborhoods host National Night Out events (cbs17.com) — Durham neighborhoods turned out for National Night Out as police and residents met at block parties, cookouts and anti-crime events to strengthen trust after recent violence near Cornwallis Road apartments. Community leaders emphasized safety, partnership and using local services, while kids and families connected with officers through games, food and prizes.
