• Celebrating America 250 (thefranklinpress.com) — Franklin and Macon County are throwing a full two-day America 250 celebration July 3–4, with tournaments, concerts, and a big fireworks show at the Rec Park. Main Street Franklin will host the July 4 parade, kids’ contests, inflatables, food trucks, and a Franklin Fire & Rescue water feature, while evening shuttles help residents reach the park safely.
   

• FAST defeats Jackson (thefranklinpress.com) — Franklin’s Amateur Swim Team dominated Jackson County at the Macon County Rec Park, with Franklin’s girls and boys combining for a 705–419 victory and extending a 17-year unbeaten streak. Local swimmers of all ages racked up wins across multiple events, and the Fins return to the Rec Park July 2 to host Waynesville in their next Mountain Swim League meet.
