Jonathan Thomas Bost, a former honors chemistry teacher at Mooresville High School, was killed in a car accident on Interstate 85 over the weekend, according to local reports.
Cornelius, Davidson Crews Free Driver From Mangled I-77 Crash
Rescue teams from Cornelius and Davidson were forced to cut the top off a car Monday in order to free a driver trapped in a vehicle mangled in a collision with a guardrail along Interstate 77 southbound. The driver was later transported to the hospital.
Hospital Safety Grades: See How Mooresvilleβs Facility Fared
A nationwide hospital safety analysis has found that 31 hospitals in North Carolina received an "A" grade for preventing medical errors, accidents, injuries and infections, which collectively are the third leading cause of death in America. On the flip side, no hospitals received a "D" or worse.
STDs Surge In North Carolina: CDC Report
The number of Americans contracting sexually transmitted diseases is about to reach epidemic levels this year, and North Carolina is not immune from the problem, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The highest number ever of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis cases β more than 2 million β was reported across the nation, the CDC says, with the Tar Heel State ranking highly in cases of all three diseases.
