Veteran Entrepreneur Brings D1 Training to Wake Forest

Wake Forest, NC. September 29th,2026 –D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will be opening a new location in Wake Forest at 920 Timberline View Drive Suite 108 on October 17th. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

In celebration of the new location's launch, Wake Forest neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility's team at its grand opening event on October 17th, which will also feature 10 to 15 local vendors offering everything from professional services to food and coffee. Attendees can test their athleticism with a series of combine-style challenges, including vertical jump, broad jump, and speed gate drills. Visitors can also take advantage of complimentary fitness assessments and InBody scans to measure body composition. The event will also include raffles, prizes, and giveaways.

D1 Training Wake Forest is locally owned and operated by Dylan and Kasey Hudock, who will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees, including former professional and collegiate athletes. Additional D1 partners include NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

Dylan Hudock is a U.S. Army veteran who served from 2012 to 2016 before transitioning into a career in corporate data analytics and sales operations. A Wake County native, Dylan later faced a serious health scare and had to spend an entire summer hospitalized. This experience reshaped his outlook and inspired him to pursue something more tangible and community focused. He is joined in this venture by his wife, Kasey, who is originally from Delaware and worked as a speech language pathologist and corporate recruiter. Both former athletes, the Hudocks share a deep passion for fitness and youth sports; Dylan currently coaches travel hockey. With three children of their own, Dylan and Kasey were motivated to invest in a business that allows them to give back to their family and the growing Wake Forest community.

"After years in the corporate world, we wanted to build something real, something that could make a lasting impact on our family and our community," said Dylan. "Fitness and youth sports have always been a huge part of our lives, and D1 gives us the chance to bring that passion to Wake Forest in a way that's personal and hands-on."

D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.

“Dylan and Kasey Hudock are the ideal candidates to bring the D1 Training experience to Wake Forest,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the Wake Forest area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Dylan and Kasey Hudock will do just that in Wake Forest and its surrounding communities.”

Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 150 facilities open with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
