• Car runs off road, heavily damages home, autos (journalpatriot.com) — A Wilkesboro family's home just outside the town limits was left uninhabitable after a Dodge Charger went airborne on Winkler Mill Road, crushing three vehicles and slamming into their house. No family members were hurt, but the 18-year-old driver suffered serious injuries, and repairs are estimated around $263,000 as the family leans on church, Red Cross, and insurance support.
   

• DAR scholarships awarded to 2 WCC students (journalpatriot.com) — Two Wilkes Community College students have received $500 scholarships backed by the Rendezvous Mountain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, with donations handled through the WCC Foundation in Wilkesboro. The long-running scholarship fund, strengthened by an estate gift, now supports two awards each year and continues to invite community contributions to help local students pursue their education.
