1. AAM Delivers R/V Osprey to UNCW (marinelink.com) — UNC Wilmington's new 78-foot research vessel, the R/V Osprey, is on her way to her home port in Wilmington and will soon support faculty, students, and partners on scientific missions. Equipped with advanced sonar, labs, and living quarters, the catamaran will expand local capacity for oceanographic research, biological studies, and hands-on marine science education for years to come.
   

2. Wilmington police detail rescue of man who jumped from Isabel Holmes Bridge (wect.com) — Wilmington police and first responders recently pulled a man from the Cape Fear River after he jumped from the Isabel Holmes Bridge during a mental health crisis. Officers say crisis-negotiation training and active dialogue were key as they worked to save him, and they stress that trained help is available around the clock for anyone experiencing a mental health or substance abuse emergency.
   

3. Lowe's, Sleep in Heavenly Peace to Build 125 Beds for local children (wwaytv3.com) — Volunteers are invited to Lowe's on S. College Road in Wilmington on Saturday, Sept. 12, to help build 125 beds for local children in need. The Bunks Across America event, led by Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Lowe's, offers hands-on volunteer opportunities and a bedding donation drive so more area kids have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.
   

4. RJ Decker Season 2 filming planned for three Wilmington locations (wwaytv3.com) — Filming for season two of "RJ Decker" will temporarily close several Wilmington streets next week, including parts of S. 16th Street, Nutt Street, and S. 5th Avenue. Crews of up to 100 people will be working at Crafted Outpost, CFCC Union Station, and Murray Storage, with police managing traffic and some lane closures that could affect your commute and parking options.
   

5. Wilmington names winner of 'Building Memories' Lego competition (wect.com) — A young Wilmington Cub Scout, Dean Poulos, has won the city's "Building Memories" Lego competition with a detailed Veterans Day Parade scene. His display features local landmarks like Thalian Hall and the Burgwin-Wright House, honoring area veterans and celebrating the Cape Fear community through a creative, kid-designed tribute.
