• Rescue made after person jumps off Isabel Holmes Bridge (starnewsonline.com subscription) — Emergency crews in Wilmington rescued a person who jumped from the Isabel Holmes Bridge into the Northeast Cape Fear River after officers responded to a report of someone in crisis. Wilmington police kept visual contact while fire crews and residents used boats to pull the person from the water. The individual was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center for evaluation. 
• Wilmington event honors overdose victims, offers resources for recovery (wect.com) — An International Overdose Day gathering in Wilmington brought together families, survivors, and recovery advocates to remember loved ones lost and connect people with treatment resources. Coastal Horizons' Quick Response Team offered free Narcan and emphasized that recovery support is available locally without stigma or barriers. Organizers urged residents to learn about overdose risks, carry Narcan, and stay connected.
