Workers and customers in Dayton describe increased traffic, strong preference for farm-grown options, and price advantages as they navigate ongoing food safety concerns. 
• New state grant money will help Dayton clean up major illegal dump sites (eagledayton.com) — Dayton has secured a major share of more than $1 million in state grant money to clean up long-standing illegal dump sites, including an entire block of Delphos Avenue near West Third Street. City sustainability staff say the roughly $92,000 requested will tackle debris, tires, and other hazards that affect safety, mosquitoes, and neighborhood morale, especially for vocal Westwood residents.
• Tails of Love: Maude (dayton247now.com) — In Dayton, a 10-year-old chihuahua named Maude went from a hoarding rescue to a cherished permanent family member after her foster parents with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton couldn't bear to let her go. The Hendersons share how fostering changed Maude's life and encourage other Miami Valley residents to consider fostering or adopting through the Humane Society's programs.
