Oklahoma City plans new highway gateway signs and pedestrian bridge upgrades (koco.com) — Oklahoma City is moving ahead with a $4.2 million project to add gateway signs on 12 highway entrances and upgrade three pedestrian bridges at SW 24th, Woodson Park, and Blackwelder. Construction is set for 2027, with new art, ADA improvements, and LED lighting planned to welcome residents and visitors ahead of the 2028 Olympic events.
   

2. 17-year-old arrested after deadly hit-and-run, body found in truck bed (news9.com) — Oklahoma City police arrested a 17-year-old after he reported a deadly hit-and-run, where a woman riding a scooter was struck and later found in the bed of his truck. Investigators say the teen delayed calling 911, showed signs of intoxication, and now faces DUI and hit-and-run-related complaints pending formal charges.
   

3. Police confirm threats against City Council following Flock vote (freepressokc.com) — Oklahoma City officials are investigating multiple death threats made against City Council members and other city leaders following the contentious vote to approve Flock surveillance technology. Councilman Matt Hinkle says threats targeted him and his family, while Councilwoman JoBeth Hamon contrasted the current response with the lack of apparent investigation into threats she received in 2020 over policing issues.
   

4. Special Notice to All Property and Casualty Insurers Regarding Order Setting New Date for Hearing Pursuant to 36 O.S. § 984 as to Whether the Oklahoma Homeowners Insurance Market is Noncompetitive (ok.gov) — State regulators have postponed the major public hearing on whether Oklahoma's homeowners insurance market is noncompetitive, moving it to October 26 at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Insurance Department has created an online docket so residents, insurers, and other interested parties can follow filings and orders tied to this closely watched proceeding.
