Record Levels of Lead in Two Homes Supplied by Portland Water

The Oregonian reports that two homes in Washington County had levels of lead far above what the Environmental Protection Agency says should be the maximum allowable limit.
One home in Tigard tested at 648 parts per billion. A home in Washington County tested at 113 parts per billion.
The EPA - which says no lead is safe - says the maximum allowable should be 15 parts per billion.

The paper reports that both homes get their water from the Portland Water Bureau, which tells them they don't believe tire's a greater problem in high risk homes built between 1970 and 1985.
