• Elderly woman rescued from Mercedes in William Penn Highway crash, chief says (lehighvalleylive.com) — Emergency crews freed a 79-year-old woman from her Mercedes after a two-car crash Wednesday night on William Penn Highway in Bethlehem Township, briefly shutting the road for about 40 minutes. Police say the woman, who had the right of way while turning onto Emerick Boulevard, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital–Anderson in Bethlehem Township; the other driver was not hurt.
   

• A Hospital IV Fluid Is Recalled After Cotton Fibers, Wood Fiber and Plastic Were Found in Solution (medicaldaily.com) — Bethlehem-based B. Braun Medical is recalling one lot of its 1,000 mL Lactated Ringers IV fluid after cotton, wood fibers, and plastic particles were found in some bags, posing risks like blood vessel blockages and organ damage. The affected lot, distributed to hospitals across the U.S. and Canada, is being pulled from inventory, though no related injuries have been reported and consumers don't need to check anything at home.
