Ancient Shamanic Trance Postures

Ancient trance postures are an archaic source of wisdom, healing, and mind-altering experiences. Cultures from every continent have used them to open their minds and hearts to information from beyond the five senses and intuition. If a person maintains a designated posture and listens to continuous percussion from rattles or drums, he/she will make contact with the Essence of the posture—a Spirit. Each posture is different, and more than one hundred exist. Beginning and Advanced Trancers are welcome to join the training. Instructor: Dr Lisa Woodside.

Where are trance postures found? On cave walls, on totem poles, on artifacts and in statue form. Sometimes a posture will even appear in the trance of a person so that the particular pose can be retrieved for the messages it seeks to offer. Artists will spontaneously produce poses from the creative unconscious. Most postures are found in several cultures, thus giving credence to their authenticity. The Bear Posture, for instance, is found in more that fifty-five cultures in the US alone. The experiences of thousands of trancers in many, many countries give the authenticity that is complete.

The Felicitas Goodman Cuyamungue Institute in Sante Fe, NM is the certifying agent for Trance Posture Teachers.  Do check out their fascination website at www.cuyamungueinstitute.com.
