1st East Coast 'Golf Envy' Club Opens In Doylestown

A new state-of-the-art way to play, practice, and socialize around golf is teeing off in Doylestown. On Saturday, Jan. 24 longtime Bucks County hospitality leader Matt George officially opened the first-ever Golf Envy location in Doylestown. “We’re excited to introduce ourselves to the community,” said George, who is no stranger to the Bucks County hospitality scene, having owned and operated the nearby Plumsteadville Inn for the past five years. “The space offers a modern, social take on the game, creating a year-round destination for practice, competition, and connection.”

The owners, employees and friends of Golf Envy cut the ribbon on the East Coast's first club.

3 Bucks County Amazon Fresh Stores To Close

Three Amazon Fresh supermarkets will be shutting their doors in the near future as the company exits as an online brand. Amazon announced this past week that it is closing its Amazon Fresh and cashierless Amazon Go stores in Pennsylvania and nationwide, including its thee Bucks County stores in Bensalem, Oxford Valley and Warrington. Some closed Fresh and Go stores will be converted to Whole Foods Markets, the company said. It plans to open 100 new stores over the next few years.

Trump Store Closes Its Doors In Bucks County

The Trump Store — which made its mark as a business during the president's two terms — is closing its doors, its owner said. "After six wonderful years at our Bensalem location, we have made the difficult decision to close," the owner said in a Facebook post. The Trump Store held its grand opening in February 2020, during President Donald Trump's first term. It will wrap up business as the president enters the second year of his second term.

Firstrust Bank Manager Named To Foundations Board

Steve Rush has been appointed as a new board member with Foundations Community Partnership (FCP), a philanthropic grant-making foundation that supports the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults and families in Bucks County. His first term runs through 2028. Rash serves as Assistant Vice President/Community Banking Manager at Firstrust Bank in Doylestown. FCP’s Board of Directors also welcomed a new staff member to the team in January, after Caroline O’Connell Sinton left the organization after 14 years of dedicated service. The new Director of Grants and Programs, Morgan Clark, is no stranger to FCP having previously served on the Board of Directors and completed its Summer Youth Corps program in 2016.
