BUCKS COUNTY, PA — There's big news to report on the foodie front in Bucks County.
Brixmor Propery Group, whch manages the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, has confirmed that South Jersey's PJW Restaurant Group has signed a lease to open its second Bucks County P.J. Whelihan's Pub and Restaurant at the center.
The sports bar and family restaurant will be moving into the former site of Iron Hill Brewery, which closed last fall after the local chain declared bankruptcy.

In other foodie news, Doylestown's popular Villa Capri pizzeria has opened a second location at the Station in Dublin Borough where it is fired-up to be serving Wood Fired Pizza and homemade cannolis. Yum.

Pub & Restaurant To Open At Closed Iron Hill Site
P.J. Whelihan's Pub and Restaurant is coming to the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. Kristin Moore, a spokesperson for the Brixmor Property Group, which manages the shopping center, confirmed in an email that the New Jersey-based PJW Restaurant Group has signed a lease with the shopping center and will be opening at the former Iron Hill Brewery site. The Delaware-based Iron Hill Brewery shut down operations in September when the chain declared bankruptcy and closed all of its restaurants, including its newest location at the Village at Newtown.

Doylestown Pizzeria 'Fired Up' Over 2nd Location
Villa Capri, a Doylestown Borough staple for nearly 60 years, has taken its pizza on the road to Dublin Borough. The West Court Street pizzeria has opened a new location inside the Station on North Main Street where it's "fired up" to be serving a menu featuring Wood Fired New York Style Pizza. "Big news at The Station. Villa Capri of Dublin is now here," posted the Dublin Town Center on Tuesday. "Since 1968, Villa Capri has been a Doylestown staple known for great food, live music, and a fun family atmosphere. Now you can enjoy it also at The Station!"

North Point Owner Advocates For Women In Construction
Stephanie Kennelly, co-owner of North Point Exteriors in Doylestown, represented Bucks County at the James Hardie Summit in San Antonio, Texas. The annual conference for siding contractors featured a Women’s Leadership session, which Kennelly attended on Feb. 5. Kennelly was selected to speak to a group of male-owned companies during the summit. The discussion focused on ways to increase women's involvement within their organizations. Topics included hiring women for project management roles and expanding their presence in sales and leadership positions within the construction industry.

New Chief Officer Named At St. Mary Medical Center
St. Mary Medical Center has a new chief medical officer. Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic has named Gerald Wydro as chief medical officer of St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne and Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. The Levittown native will provide clinical leadership, oversee quality and safety initiatives, and guide the hospitals’ ongoing efforts to deliver exceptional, compassionate care for the community, officials said in a press release.

Bakery Whips Up Cake For Washington's Birthday
A Bucks County bakery will again provide the centerpiece cake for George Washington's birthday celebration on at Washington Crossing Historic Park. For the ninth year, the Caketeria on Washington Avenue in Newtown Borough, will be providing the event's signature birthday cake, which George Washington will cut with his sword - an exact replica of the Bailey Silver & Ivory-Hilted Cuttoe from the Smithsonian - during the park's Presidential birthday celebration. Bakery owner Beth Rubin and her team will again be whipping up a three-tiered cake for the celebration, which is taking on an extra air of celebration this year as the nation celebrates its 250th birthday.
