Week-Long 'Code Blue' Declared in Bucks County
Emergency shelters have been activated in Yardley, Doylestown and Quakertown.

The Bucks County Emergency Management Agency and the Bucks County Health Department have issued a prolonged “Code Blue” declaration in response to extremely cold weather conditions expected over the next week.
The Code Blue went into effect Thursday and will remain until the morning of Friday, Feb. 20.

- Woodside Presbyterian Church, 1687 Edgewood Rd.,Yardley
- Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 27 E. Court St., Doylestown
- Salem Mennonite Church, 41 E. Cherry Rd., Quakertown.
These three sites have activated their emergency shelters. The on-call churches will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities, according to the county.
County residents are urged to check on their elderly neighbors during this period of frigid weather.

Caution also should be taken with pets during extremely cold temperatures, according to county officials.
