Woman Killed In Doylestown Crash Was Returning From Birthday, Easter Shopping For Daughter, Family Says

Patricia MacAllister was coming home after buying her daughter's birthday presents and Easter gifts when she was hit, her family says.

The family of the Doylestown woman who was killed by a suspected drunk driver on Thursday has posted a heartbreaking crowd funding appeal to raise money for her burial.

Patricia MacAllister died at the age of 68 when the car she was driving was hit head-on by Jospeh Mancinelli, 24, of Warrington. Mancinelli has been charged with third-degree murder in connection with the crash on Sandy Ridge Road.

MacAllister's family says the long-time local pharmacy technician was coming home after finishing work and buying her daughter's birthday present and Easter gifts when she was hit.

"My mother was my best friend. I am lost without her and I just want to give her the funeral she deserves," her daughter Melissa Marie Mac Allister wrote.

Authorities say Mancinelli was fleeing from a previous accident when he crashed head-on into MacAllister. The District Attorney's office alleges Mancinelli was drunk at the time of the crash, which happened around 4:15 p.m. He has also been charged with homicide by vehicle and related charges, court records show.

According to her daughter's GoFundMe page, MacAllister worked as a pharmacy technician for Rite Aid for 20 years, and became very close with her customers. "Her customers were her friends. She would tell me about each and everyone of you at night. Your kids. Your stories. She loved you all," she said.

"My mom raised me to be strong. She was the one for me who came after every time someone crashed into me. She was there to heal my boo boos and help me recover. I wish I had the chance to be there for her. She was in my car when that horrible man took her life. She didn't deserve to go out like that," her daughter said.
