Coronavirus Hospitalizations Down In Delco, Cases Still Rising
The most recent data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows more people are testing positive for the coronavirus in Delco.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Nearly all of the six key coronavirus metrics measured by the Pennsylvania Department of Health have increased over the past week in Delaware County.
Just one metric — the average number of coronavirus specific hospitalizations — decreased from July 30 to Aug. 6. Hospitalizations dropped from 6.6 to 4.9.
Also, the percent of people showing up to hospitals with coronavirus-like illnesses remained the same at 1.3 percent.

All other metrics increased, some very slightly.
Newly reported cases went up from 231 to 323.

The incidence rate per 100,000 people increased from 40.8 to 57.
Delaware County's positive testing rate has gone up from 3.2 percent to 4.2 percent.
Lastly, the average number of coronavirus patients on ventilators increased slightly, from none to 0.3.
According to health officials, 277,658 people in Delaware County have been fully vaccinated and 31,862 have been partially vaccinated.
