David Carbonaro was convicted on charges related to him abusing a 3-year-old child by holding "photo shoots" of the victim.

UPPER DARBY, PA — An Upper Darby man will spend nearly two dozen years behind bars after he was convicted of numerous child exploitation offenses including abusing a 3-year-old in order to produce pornography.

David Carbonaro, 28, of Upper Darby, was sentenced to 22 years and one month in prison, lifetime supervised release, and was ordered to pay $38,000 in restitution, Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said.

Carbonaro pleaded guilty in November 2019 to charges of production, distribution, and possession of child pornography, stemming from his sexual abuse of minor child in his care when she was just a toddler.

Carbonaro conducted "photo shoots" of the victim, as she is referred to in court documents, in sexualized poses and directed his co-defendant Kayla Parker, to sexually abuse the victim for his viewing pleasure.
