Haverford Crime Blotter: Fraud, Vandalism, Theft, More
Haverford Police said a resident's identity was used to purchase a car, open a Home Depot credit card account, and take out a $10,000 loan.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between March 2 and March 8.
The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

- Retail Theft at Wine and Spirits, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on March 2 at 2:38 p.m. – Two unknown females stole $386.83 worth of tequila and fled the store.
- Fraud at the 700 block of Ardmore Avenue on March 2 at 12:47 p.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to her unemployment account and changed the bank account information for payments.
- Identity Theft at the 200 block of Brentwood Road on March 2 at 1:40 p.m. – Someone opened a Sprint account using the victims identity. $2,412.54 worth of charges were made to the account.
- Identity Theft at the 100 block of Ellis Road on March 2 at 11:52 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a bank account and an online stock trading account.
- Vandalism at the 300 block of Virginia Avenue on March 2 at 6:43 a.m. – Someone dumped the victim’s trashcan on her porch.
- Vandalism at the unit block of East Manoa Road on March 2 at 11:43 a.m. – Residence was egged.
- Vandalism at the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on March 2 at 1:41 p.m. – Residence was egged.
- Theft at the 1500 block of Brierwood Road on March 3 at 11:33 a.m. – Victim reported money missing from her dresser.
- Fraud at the 600 block of Manoa Road on March 3 at 10:05 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used a photograph of her temporary vehicle registration and accrued $62.51 in tolls.
- Fraud at the 1600 block of Greenway Road on March 3 at 4:36 p.m. – An unknown person purchased a computer with the victim’s credit card.
- Fraud at the 400 block of E. Township Line Road on March 4 at 8 a.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after he mailed it.
- Fraud at the 500 block of Strathmore Road on March 4 at 3:09 p.m. – Victim reported a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Identity Theft at the 1300 block of Dill Road on March 4 at 8:48 a.m. – A bank account was opened using the victim’s identity.
- Disorderly Conduct at the Skatium, 1000 block of Darby Road, on March 4 at 9:20 p.m. – 39-year-old male, 800 block of Valley Road was cited for disorderly conduct.
- Bicycle Theft at Grove Place and Ashurst Road on March 5 at 6:05 p.m.
- Identity Theft at the 200 block of Rodmor Road on March 5 at 10:06 a.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a TJ Max credit card using his identity and made $687.68 worth of purchases.
- Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on March 6 at 4:50 p.m. – An unknown male stole a Kitchen Aid mixer valued at $499.99.
- Fraud at the unit block of Holbrook Road on March 7 at 11:45 a.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Identity Theft at the 100 block of Brentwood Road on March 7 at 12 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits.
- Identity Theft at the 900 block of Railroad Avenue on March 7 at 3:37 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to purchase a car, open a Home Depot credit card account and a $10,000 loan.
- Fraud at the 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane on March 8 at 2:26 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Identity Theft at the 200 block of Morlyn Avenue on March 8 at 2:58 p.m. - An unknown actor used the victim’s identity to file for unemployment benefits.
- Fraud at the unit block of Myrtle Avenue on March 8 at 9:31 a.m. – Victim reported multiple unauthorized purchases made with her credit card.
ARRESTS:
- 25-year-old male, 1700 block of Academy Lane, Havertown. Charges: Simple Assault. Location: 1700 block of Academy Lane. Date: March 5 at 5:53 p.m.
- 66-year-old male, 300 block of East Township Line Road, Havertown. Charges: Strangulation, simple assault and harassment. Location: 300 block of E. Township Line Road. Date: March 8 at 9:25 p.m.
