Haverford Crime Blotter: Fraud, Vandalism, Theft, More

A car was broken into at Lynnewood Elementary and a purse was stolen, leading to $2,000 in unauthorized credit card purchases, police said.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between March 9 and March 15.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on March 9 at 1:05 p.m. – An unknown male stole a vacuum cleaner valued at $449.99.
  • Identity Theft at the 800 block of Powder Mill Lane on March 9 at 12:57 p.m. – Victim reported that someone accessed her unemployment account and changed the banking information for payments.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Fulmer Avenue on March 9 at 2:04 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered and cashed a check after it was mailed.
  • Retail Theft at Ardmore Exxon, 2700 block of Haverford Road, on March 10 at 2 p.m. – An unknown male stole a tray of Bic lighters and multiple packages of health supplements.
  • Fraud at the 2600 block of County Line Road on March 10 at 2:36 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of E. Manoa Road on March 10 at 5:10 p.m. – Victim reported that someone made an unauthorized withdrawal from his checking account.
  • Identity Theft at the 400 block of Glendale Road on March 10 at 10:31 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account.
  • Fraud at the 600 block of E. Manoa Road on March 11 at 9:45 a.m. – Multiple unauthorized charges were reported on the victim’s credit card.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Golf View Road on March 11 at 3 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account and file for unemployment benefits.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 600 block of Georges Lane on March 11 at 10:30 p.m. – 39-year-old male, 600 block of Georges Lane, Ardmore was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Public Drunkenness at Old West Chester Pike and Hilltop Road on March 12 at 12:46 a.m. – 35-year-old female, 7800 block of Beverly Boulevard, Upper Darby was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Theft at Lynnewood Elementary, 1400 block of Lawrence Road, on March 14 at 8:48 p.m. – Victim reported that her vehicle window was shattered and her purse was stolen. The purse contained a cell phone, prescription sunglasses, driver’s license and several credit cards. $2,000 in unauthorized purchases were made with the credit cards before they were canceled.
  • Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on March 14 at 5:40 p.m. – Victim reported that his i-pad was stolen.
  • Theft at Conoco, 1200 block of West Chester Pike, on March 14 at 5:33 p.m. – An employee reported that an unknown male stole the air pump nozzle.
  • Fraud at the 1600 block of Robinson Avenue on March 14 at 5:37 p.m. – Victim reported that someone attempted to make two unauthorized purchases with her credit card.
  • Vandalism at the 1500 block of Robinson Avenue on March 14 at 11:23 a.m. – Vehicle was keyed.
  • Fraud at the 1800 block of Belvedere Avenue on March 15 at 8:05 p.m. – Victim reported unauthorized purchases made with his credit card.
  • Vandalism at the 400 block of College Avenue on March 15 at 10:25 a.m. – Wires were cut to lights fixtures in the victim’s driveway.

ARRESTS

  • 36-year-old male, 5000 block of Brandywine Drive, Eagleville. Charges: DUI, accidents involving unattended vehicle. Location: 1900 block of West Chester Pike. Date: March 10 at 10:26 p.m.
