Haverford Crime Blotter: Identity Theft, Fraud, Vandalism, More

Haverford Township reported five separate instances of identity theft in the township last week. Get details on those crimes and more.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township released their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

  • Fraud in the 200 block of North. Lexington Avenue on Jan. 27 at 8:04 p.m. – victim sent money in the form of gift cards to an unknown actor for an unpaid bill; investigation ongoing.
  • Identity Theft in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue on Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m. – victim states that an unknown actor filed for unemployment using his information.
  • Identity Theft in the 100 block of Buck Lane on Jan. 28 at 2:10 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person has been using his social security number to rent apartments.
  • Identity Theft in the unit block of Warrior Road on Jan. 29 at 2:51 p.m. – victim states that an unknown used his name and social security number to collect unemployment benefits.
  • Identity Theft in the 200 block of Heatherwood Road on Jan. 29 at 3:19 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person used his name and credit card information to purchase a laptop. The transaction has been cancelled.
  • Identity Theft in the 100 block of Brentwood Road on Jan. 29 at 3:59 p.m. – victim states that an unknown actor opened two bank accounts in her name.
  • Liquor Laws in the 1600 block of Mount Pleasant Road on Jan. 29 at 11:34 p.m. – several juveniles were cited for underage drinking.
  • Identity Theft in the 200 block of Walnut Place on Jan. 30 at 10:23 a.m. – victim states that an unknown person filed for unemployment in her name.
  • Retail Theft at Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 1 at 1:29 p.m. – laundry detergent was taken from the above location.
  • Fraud in the 200 block of Marple Road on Feb. 1 at 6:09 p.m. – victim received a fraudulent phone call from “Haverford Police” asking for her personal information about a credit card.
  • Vandalism at Sunoco, 400 block of East Township Line Road, on Feb. 2 at 1:31 p.m. – victim states that an unknown male broke both of the side mirrors off her vehicle; investigation is ongoing.

ARRESTS:

  • 29-year-old male, 6600 block of Edmund Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
  • 33-year-old male, 100 block of Terrace Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Jan. 29 at 8:31 p.m.
  • 21-year-old male, 5900 Alma Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Forgery, Theft by Deception, Bad Checks. Location: TD Bank, 100 block of West Eagle Road. Date: Jan. 30 at 11:58 a.m.
