Haverford Crime Blotter: Identity Theft, Vandalism, DUI, More

Police reported numerous instances of identity theft recently, saying 45 people had their identities stolen or attempted to be stolen.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The latest crime blotter from Haverford Township Police is out, and all the details are below.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between July 13 and July 20.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

INCIDENTS:

  • Identity Theft – 41 residents have reported that their identity was stolen to file for unemployment benefits.
  • Theft at Wawa, unit block of East Eagle Road, on July 13 at 10:56 p.m. – An unknown male stole three juveniles backpacks from the vestibule.
  • Fraud at the Quadrangle, 3300 block of Darby Road, on July 13 at 2:35 p.m. – Victim received a call from someone offering computer service protection. The victim did give the caller access to her computer before becoming suspicious.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue on July 13 at 11:43 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of Campbell Avenue on July 14 at 10:35 a.m. – Victim reported that a fraudulent check was cashed causing her account to be overdrawn.
  • Vandalism at the 100 block of Treaty Road on July 14 at 12:50 p.m. – Residence was egged.
  • Theft at Westgate Hills Rehabilitation & Nursing, 2000 block of Old West Chester
  • Pike, on July 15 at 4:14 p.m. - $64 was reported missing from a room.
  • Attempted Theft at the 700 block of Millbrook Lane on July 15 at 11:59 p.m. – An unknown actor attempted to enter a vehicle.
  • Bicycle Theft at the 200 block of East Manoa Road on July 16 at 6 p.m.
  • Theft at the 2800 block of Belmont Avenue on July 16 at 2:48 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – loose change was stolen.
  • Attempted Theft at the 2900 block of Maple shade Road on July 16 at 8:20 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 600 block of Hazelwood Road on July 16 at 1:40 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 700 block of Clifford Avenue on July 16 at 3:24 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue on July 16 at 7:46 p.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft at the 2900 block of Maple Shade Road on July 16 at 5:56 p.m.
  • Theft at the unit block of Foster Avenue on July 17 at 5:48 p.m. – Victim hired someone to replace his air conditioning unit and paid him $3,500 up front. The subject failed to return phone calls and eventually blocked the victim’s number.
  • Theft at the 2900 block of Rising Sun Road on July 17 at 11:34 a.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered – key fob was stolen.
  • Attempted Theft at the 2900 block of Oakford Road on July 17 at 8:09 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 600 block of Malvern Road on July 18 at 10:06 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Identity Theft at the Quadrangle, 3300 block of Darby Road, on July 18 at 11:08 a.m. – Victim received a phone call from an unknown male stating he was from a company called IATL Squad US and he requested personal information as well as access to his computer. The victim gave the subject access and the caller downloaded pornographic photos and accessed his personal information. The caller then requested he send $1,800. The victim realized he was the victim of a scam after he transferred the money.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on July 19 at 8 a.m. – An unknown male stole a power washer.
  • Identity Theft at the 700 block of Panmure Road on July 19 at 1:45 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open an account at the credit union.
  • Fraud at the 200 block of Rodmor Road on July 20 at 1:40 p.m. – Victim received a text message from what she thought was TD Bank advising her of a possible fraudulent purchase. She responded to the text message and provided her username and password. She later discovered $3,800 was removed from her account.
  • Identity Theft at the 1500 block of Lynnewood Drive on July 20 at 10:07 a.m. – A credit card account was opened using the victim’s identity. $1,300 in charges were made on the account.

  • 49-year-old male, 400 block of Chester Pike, Darby. Charges: Possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: July 12 at 4:25 a.m.
  • 27-year-old male, 100 block of Simpson Road, Ardmore. Charges: DUI, resisting arrest and careless driving. Location: 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 16 at 1:49 a.m.
