Haverford Crime Blotter: Strong Arm Robbery, Vehicle Theft, Fraud

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 20 and Oct. 26.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

INCIDENTS

• Theft at the 500 block of Kathmere Road on Oct. 20 at 10:34 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – T-shirts and NK sport coach GPS was stolen.
• Fraud at the 1000 block of Steel Road on Oct. 20 at 9:49 a.m. – Victim received a message on his computer that his credit card was compromised and he would have to pay a sum. He was advised to send gift cards and money to the unidentified male. The victim’s bank recognized the scam and notified the police.
• Identity Theft at the 600 block of North Manoa Road on Oct. 20 at 10:40 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits.
• Criminal Mischief at Pennview and Bellemead Avenues on Oct. 20 at 3:31 p.m. – Vehicle passenger side door was damaged.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Oct. 21 at 6:33 p.m. – Two unknown males loaded a shopping cart with 17 rolls of wire worth $2,378 and attempted to exit without paying. Loss prevention officer confronted the subjects and they surrendered the merchandise and fled.
• Motor Vehicle Theft at U-Haul, unit block of East Township Line Road, on Oct. 21 at 8:21 a.m.
• Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 22 at 3:22 p.m. – An unknown male and female stole approximately $400 worth of groceries and fled the store.
• Theft at the unit block of Blackburn Lane on Oct. 22 at 1:18 p.m. – Victim reported that his blower valued at $740 was stolen from his landscaping truck.
• Identity Theft at the 300 block of Ivy Rock Lane on Oct. 22 at 3:36 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits.
• Criminal Mischief at the 500 block of Covington Road on Oct. 22 at 7:57 p.m. – Victim reported that someone threw something through his door causing a small glass pane to break.
• Public Drunkenness at the 2200 block of Darby Road on Oct. 23 at 1:13 a.m. – 51-year-old male, 200 block of Highland Avenue was cited for criminal mischief and public drunkenness.
• Retail Theft at Fine Wine and Good Spirits, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 24 at 1:17 p.m. – An unknown male stole two bottles of Remy Martin Cognac valued at $95.
• Theft at the 600 block of Ardmore Avenue on Oct. 24 at 10:26 a.m. – Victim reported that approximately $50 worth of gas was siphoned from her vehicle.
• Strong Armed Robbery at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 26 at 9:17 p.m. – Store manager reported that two women exited the store with two shopping carts full of unpaid merchandise. The manager confronted the subjects and one woman pushed her to the ground and they fled with one cart of merchandise.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Oct. 26 at 9:15 a.m. – An unknown male stole a Bosch demolition hammer and fled.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Oct. 26 at 11:13 a.m. – An unknown male and female stole approximately $400 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Oct. 26 at 7:27 p.m. – An unknown male stole $320 worth of electrical wire and fled the store.
• Bicycle Theft at Haverford High School, 200 block of Mill Road on Oct. 26 at 2:15 p.m.

ARRESTS

• 18-year-old male, 4200 block of Osage Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night and theft from a motor vehicle. Location: 500 block of Brierwood Road and unit block of Sycamore Road. Date: Oct. 21 at 12:54 a.m.
• 29-year-old female, 500 block of Washington Avenue, Havertown. Charges: DUI and prohibited text based communication. Location: 400 block of Earlington Road. Date: Oct. 23 at 2:32 a.m.
• 61-year-old male, 100 block of Mill Road, Havertown. Charges: Simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Location: 300 block of Highland Lane. Date: Oct. 24 at 1:45 p.m.
• 27-year-old male, 200 block of East Reliance Road, Souderton. Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: 100 block of North Manoa Road. Date: Oct. 24 at 5:06 a.m.
• 28-year-old male, 2800 block of West Montgomery Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI, restrictions on alcoholic beverage and public drunkenness. Location: 200 block of West Darby Road. Date: Oct. 25 at 5:56 p.m.
