TOWAMENCIN, PA — German grocer Lidl hopes to continue its expansion in Montgomery County by moving into part of the old Acme in Towamencin.
The growing chain will send a group of representatives to the Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 23 to discuss the matter.
Acme occupied the location for years until it closed last May, leaving many wondering about the future of the space on 1150 Welsh Road.

Lidl has filed a Waiver of Land Development request with the township, which proposes dividing the old Acme into two tenant spaces, one of which they would occupy.
Their proposal also requests moving 29 parking spaces from the rear of hte building, so that they could have more space for a new loading area.
