How Did Lansdale Vote In The 2018 Midterm Elections?

LANSDALE, PA — Democrats swept all major races both statewide and in the county, but how did Lansdale itself vote?

The county was, overall, a microcosm of a larger national movement which saw the the left taking control of the U.S. House and state candidates making history in districts that have been red for decades. Lansdale borough similarly voted blue, though things were closer here than they were in other parts of the county.

The most popular Republican candidate in the borough was former mayor Andy Szekely in the state representative race, who won a noticeably greater percentage of the local vote than any other Republican, though he wound up losing the race to Lansdale Borough Councilman Steve Malagari.

Here's how the borough voted on each of the races on the ballot Tuesday:

U.S. House of Representatives 1st District

• Scott Wallace (Democrat): 19,130
• Brian Fitzpatrick (Republican): 16,550 (winner)

U.S. Senate

• Bob Casey (Democrat): 4,541 (overall winner)
• Lou Barletta (Republican): 1,952
• Kerns (Libertarian): 91
• Neal Gale (Green): 70

Pennsylvania Governor/Lt. Governor

• Tom Wolf/John Fetterman (Democrat): 4,638 (overall winner)
• Scott Wagner/Jeff Bartos (Republican): 1,880
• Ken Krawchuck/Kathleen Smith: 78
• Paul Glover/Jocolyn Bowster-Bostick (Green): 62

Pennsylvania State Rep. 53rd District

• Steve Malagari (Democrat): 4,147 (overall winner)
• Andy Szekely (Republican): 2,461

Pennsylvania State Sen. 24th District

• Linda Fields (Democrat): 4,324
• Bob Mensch (Republican): 2,292 (overall winner)
